Opening of an international interdisciplinary 2nd year Master track
Although Strasbourg already benefits from the existence of secondary education programs in technology for healthcare that are widely recognized, our goal was to implement a novel learning curriculum fully fitting to the broad spectrum of disciplinary fields embedded in the project. For the academic year 2021-22, we have therefore opened a 2nd year international Master track based on top-level existing courses, supplemented by interdisciplinary modules created specifically by HealthTech partners. Curriculum topics range from medical imaging, robotics and artificial intelligence to economics, data science, medicine and surgery.
12 HealthTech fellows, including 6 international students, were selected to join the program in September 2021. HealthTech's training through research program is also followed by 2 Canadian students pursuing a double degree via an agreement with Polytechnique Montréal, and 5 engineering students of Télécom Physique Strasbourg specialized in « Information Technology for Healthcare » and enrolled in a compatible track.
By introducing new pedagogical practices based on transversal skills, combined with the use of creativity methods, our hope is to boost students’ involvement and create a dynamic learning environment. To favor equity and an efficient work environment, HealthTech students have been provided with personal computers at the start of the academic year, and a dedicated classroom with all necessary items is available for their courses.
