Galette des Rois for PhD Students

HealthTech PhD students kicked off the year with their first social event: galette des rois!

The galette des rois - the Three Kings' Cake - is a cultural and gustatory tradition that takes places in early January. The cake, typically composed of a crust of phyllo dough and a frangipane (almond and cream mixture) filling, also contain a surprise fève - most commonly a small figurine. The person whose piece of cake contains the fève is named the king or the queen and gets to wear the crown.

S. Onyando and F. Dettori, pictured here, were this year's kings.
