Prof. Didier Mutter performed a minimally-invasive gallbladder removal while using a computer software designed by Prof. Nicolas Padoy and his research group at IHU Strasbourg and ICube. This image-analysis system followed the surgery in real-time via the video from the endoscopic camera, and was able to automatically perform controls of key steps of the operation.
The surgery was broadcasted live during the Digestive Surgery Congress in Rome and the World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery in Barcelona.
